Introduction
June is Cancer Immunotherapy Month — a moment to highlight one of the most transformative advances in modern oncology.
To mark the occasion, experts from the Translational Oncology Research Centre (TORC) present their new white paper: “The Evolving Landscape of Immunotherapy in Belgium: The Brussels Case.”
The report explores the rapid progress in cancer immunotherapy, including checkpoint inhibitors, cellular therapies, cancer vaccines, CAR-based approaches, and emerging next-generation strategies. It also addresses key ongoing challenges such as resistance, toxicity, regulatory complexity, and the need for better biomarkers and scalable solutions that researchers and clinicians at VUB and UZ Brussel are tackling within TORC.
