Meet the team behind the mission at TORC
At the Translational Oncology Research Centre (TORC), our mission to advance multidisciplinary cancer research is made possible by the dedicated work of our central team.
Program Manager
Dr. Isabelle Houbracken oversees the strategic direction of TORC's initiatives, ensuring that projects align with our mission and meet the highest scientific and ethical standards. She connect researchers, clinicians and investors to drive collaborations that bridge fundamental, translational and clinical research. Her role is pivotal in securing funding, managing resources and ensuring TORC’s long-term impact.
Operational Manager
Sarah Provost coordinates daily operations and is the central communication point regarding TORC group. She ensures the seamless integration of our multidisciplinary teams by smoothening the path in obtaining human material, facilitate the collaboration with the biobank and hospital departments and aid in administrative aspects of ethical requests for CME as well as quality management. Managing of outreach & science communication and support in Open Science is another key role, empowering our researchers to focus on groundbreaking discoveries and clinical applications.
Bioinformatics Lead
Data lies at the heart of cancer research. Jack Brons transforms raw data into meaningful insights. He develops and implements cutting-edge computational tools and methodologies to analyze genomic and clinical datasets, accelerating the discovery of novel biomarkers, therapeutic targets and precision oncology approaches. His work bridges the gap between data and actionable clinical solutions, supporting our quest for innovative cancer treatments.
At TORC, these roles converge to enable impactful cancer research that changes lives. Together, we are committed to advancing detection, treatment, and care at every stage of the disease.
