During the TORC teambuilding event, our research units were mixed together into three groups. Each group was invited to reflect on two simple yet powerful questions: Why did I choose to become a scientist, or why did I want to work in the cancer field? And how did I imagine myself doing science when I was younger?
From childhood curiosities and role models in lab coats, to deeply personal motivations and the drive to make a difference, our answers were as diverse as our research focuses. And yet, through this reflective exercise, a clear common thread emerged: a shared commitment to understanding and fighting cancer.
By visualizing our journeys and connecting through our motivations, we didn’t just exchange stories, we strengthened our identity as one TORC team. Three units, one mission. 💪💡
