Christel Fontaine

Dr. Christel Fontaine graduated as a physician in 1989 from the Ghent University Hospital and as an oncologist in 1995 from the Brussels University Hospital. She mainly specialized in breast, head and neck cancer. In 2007, she was appointed as head of the clinic. In 2016, she won the prize for the most caring colleague in Flanders. Together with Prof. Klastersky, she heads the working group for ‘supportive care and cancer survivorship’. She was also recently elected to sit on the board of the Belgian Association of Medical Oncologists and is a member of the European Association of Medical Oncology. But she is first and foremost passionate about her profession as an oncologist.
